Hidenwood Presbyterian Church believes in the support and nurture of the God-given talents of music. This series is offered to the community to delight, educate and fulfill our needs for artistic beauty. All concerts are free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be received to defray expenses. For additional information and to confirm concert dates, contact the church office Monday through Friday at 596-1151.

Chamber Choir of Edinburgh Academy
Sat. Oct. 14 4:00 p.m.
Innocents Abroad

We host a 20-member group of high school musicians as they travel to us from their native Scotland. This concert, with an international flair, will present string and wind ensembles from the Edinburgh Academy and its sister school, St. George’s School  for Girls. The concert will be followed by an all-church covered dish dinner to
meet and greet our overseas guests.

Amazing Grace
The Wesleyan Singers
from Virginia Wesleyan College bring us a program of sacred music. In addition to performing at churches, schools and other gatherings, the singers have performed at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., St. Patrick’s  Cathedral in New York City—and Disney World.

The Star of Bethlehem
 Hidenwood Presbyterian’s sanctuary choir, along with their guests, offer a rarely-heard Christmas oratorio, The Star of Bethlehem, by Joseph Rheinberger. The choral music will be enhanced by a Nativity scene tableau as the Christmas story unfolds in this most beautiful of Romantic choral works.

Olga & Sergey in Concert

From St. Petersburg, Russia, the rising stars of the vocal scene join us for this duet concert. Olga Moskvina and Sergey Schiskin blend their talents in this concert of classical, romantic and contemporary music of Russian composers.

on the instruments for which it was written. Now in its 35th year, the Locrian Consort presents educational and always-entertaining programs on authentic reproductions of string, wind and percussion instruments.

The Story of Jacob

Feast on food with a MidEastern flavor and then enjoy the presentation of the choral drama, The Blessing: The Story of Jacob by composer Deborah Carr. Sixteen singers will bring alive the story of Jacob. Reservations required.

Music through the Ages


Enjoy the artistry of violinist Natalia Kuznetsova and  pianist Oksana Lutsyshyn as they offer the best of classical music for piano and strings. The music of Prokofiev, Mozart and Brahms will be included in this exhilarating program.

German Majesty to 
New Age Serenity 

Principal French horn from the Baltimore symphony, Philip Mund, offers a truly unique musical experience. The program will include the tour de force, The Brahms Horn Trio, for horn, violin and piano, and will conclude with New Age Celtic pieces for relaxation and healing.

Two of Tidewater’s finest singers join their talents in the popular music genre to offer a program of lighthearted favorites from the Broadway Stage..

Hidenwood Presbyterian Church is located at 414 Hiden Boulevard off Warwick Boulevard in the Hidenwood neighborhood of Newport News, near Christopher Newport University and the Mariners' Museum. Hiden Boulevard is adjacent to Hidenwood Shopping Center. Parking is available in the church parking lot.
