Join us for a service of traditional hymns in a time-honored atmosphere of worship. 
    • Morning worship is held in the sanctuary every Sunday. 
      • Special services during Holy Week and Christmas.
    • Communion is celebrated monthly on the first Sunday of each month and Maundy Thursday.
    • Nursery services are provided for children from infants through 5 years of age.
    • Personal amplification devices and large print bulletins are available
    • Tapes & printed copies sermons available

Taizé: A New Worship Experience

Wednesday, November 7 * 6:30-7:15 p.m. * Chapel

A new opportunity for worship at Hidenwood, Taizé consists of simple, repetitive songs,
reading of the Scripture, offering of prayers, and silent meditation. It is a time to focus on
your personal relationship with God in a quiet, peaceful setting.

Hard of Hearing?


If you are having difficulty hearing the sermon on Sundays,we have assisted listening devices which may help you. Call the Church Office and leave your name and telephone number. I will then arrange to meet you on Sunday morning to dispense a simple-to-use instrument and give you the instructions you need.

Worship Activities for Elementary-Aged Children!

Along with the elementary clipboards which have activities that coordinate with the scripture passages for the day, elementary children will also find copies of Pockets magazine to look at and read. There is also an “extra” box of offering envelopes just in case you forgot to bring yours to church!  Remember, the offering envelopes can hold your gift of treasure (money) or you can write a note telling how you shared your gifts of time or talent this past week.  Be sure to drop your envelope in the offering plate at church!

Audio tapes of our weekly worship services are available in the church office. Come by the church office and we'll be glad to lend you a copy, or if you're homebound, we'll send you a tape in the mail.

Clipboard Activities for Preschoolers!

Parents of preschoolers, please note that there are some new clipboards in the Children’s Worship Center especially for your youngsters!  There are crayons, coloring pages and a little book for your child to enjoy during the worship service!

Vans are Ready to Roll

If you need a ride to one of our worship services on Sunday mornings, please make your need known to the church and they will arrange for you to be picked up and driven home. Transporting folks to church is one of the reasons church vans were purchased. We look forward to hearing from you. Please call the church office at (757) 596-1151.

Our Children Are STARS! Help Us Make Sure They Are Safe!

The safety and security of our children is of utmost importance to us at HPC!  When you drop off your infant, toddler or preschooler for childcare you will now be issued a “star”. Children will only be released to the person who has the star. If your preschooler stays with you for the first part of the 11:00 a.m. worship and leaves to go to CHAT after the children's time, please stop by the preschool room (room 120) prior to going into the sanctuary to pick up a “star”. We have a growing number of youngsters and we want to make sure everyone is safely delivered to their loved ones.
